Rangoon has come and gone and suffered a disastrous fate and the fall out will be that the leads will not get a film with a considerable budget as main lead for sometime if ever unless they produce it themselves. There can be 100 of reasons given for the disastrous fate but basically its bad cinema and the chances are always there of it going bad. There have been so many examples over the last two years. Below are the figures of the last five films of Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and it is R... Rajkumar and Humshakals which come on top and these films are not exactly good films either but compared to the others they have a genre (action and comedy) which the audience gives a chance too. Also these collections of R... Rajkumar have not come because of a Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan but despite them as they probably don't have the acting talent to carry this sort of commercial cinema and were the weakest points of both films. Put an Akshay Kumar in either of these films and on a worse case scenario you can add 50% to their business with the content not changing one bit. The box office collections of these actors shows the potential of audience friendly cinema even if it goes wrong and on top with huge miscasting.
What actors have to remember is they can only survive on numbers. A 20 crore film can do 40 crore nett and be a plus and a 100 crore film can do 100 crore nett and be losing but for the actor the 100 crore nett film is the winner as it shows you can get a number and when a Rangoon happens it makes the latter an impossible task while the former is not of any use to the actor.
